Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire

Captain's blog: July 17

The first mate has informed me that now that I've updated the blog I must keep it current.
There are some current events I failed to mention in my last post, mostly because there weren't photos to go along with them.

I was hired by the LDS church last month to compose some music for some videos on their new site, www.mormon.org. The videos with my music are under the "Our Values" tab and are: Peter's Roof, Why Mormons do family History, and Humanitarian Aid. In the future there will be several more videos there with my music as the soundtrack. That was very exciting and hopefully I'll be getting more commercial music jobs soon.

Katrina and I also got real jobs...but then I got to the first day of work and they sent everybody home and told us not to come back unless they called...which they haven't.

The last 24 hours have been pretty great. Last night a bunch of friends came over and we roasted marshmallows in the back yard, then this morning we all met up at a classic VW car show, This is Jeff & Mandi's sweet Beetle that was in the show. After the car show we went and saw Inception.

Lastly and most excitingly, a couple months ago I started recording my new album, which is probably going to be called "Brave New Shore". This is my first full length album since 2002 and it will be available on iTunes. The music is quite different from my old stuff, and I'm really stoked to hear how it all sounds in the end. I should be posting some samples in the next couple weeks and possibly will release a single on iTunes as a teaser. Right now I'm looking at 16 songs on the main album PLUS a bonus disc with some unreleased tunes, acoustic and alternate versions, and covers. If you want to be kept up to date on my music there are several ways to do it: Follow this blog (go click the follow button on the right) or
for Facebook users

or you can join the mailing list at Reverbnation.com/logankendell and I'll send you email updates.

In closing, check out this sweet guitar I built!
